Cursa Bombers Barcelona 2025: Meritxell Soler sets Catalonia 10 k record and Galimany makes history

The 26th Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona took place on 9 November and attracted over 18,000 participants, 41 % of them women. The revamped course, starting and finishing on Avinguda Marquès de l’Argentera, allowed a smoother, faster run and saw 358 firefighters cross the finish line.

In the women’s race, Catalan runner Meritxell Soler triumphed in 31:47, setting a new Catalonia 10 km record and claiming her fourth win in the event. Soler highlighted that the course is designed for quick running and hinted she will pursue the qualifying mark for the cross‑country world championships.

Marta Galimany finished second in 31:59, a new European F40 record (over‑40 age group). Cristina Silva completed the podium in 33:34.

In the men’s race, Abdessamad Oukhelfen took victory in 28:32 ahead of Latvia’s Dimitrijs Serjogins (29:30) and Alex Salas (29:37). The event maintained its charitable spirit: more than 60,000 euros were raised for social causes, with 44,000 € from 21 fundraising challenges and 18,000 € from the solidarity euro included in each entry.

The 2025 edition of the Cursa Bombers confirms its status as one of Catalonia’s most popular 10 km races and a benchmark for solidarity running.
