Callao Half Marathon 2025: Pomallanqui and Díaz shine in the Peruvian port

The port of Callao, Peru, turned into a running celebration during the AVA Media Marathon del Callao & 10K Powered by APM Terminals. The event drew thousands of athletes and fans who ran along the scenic route starting and finishing at the Peruvian Naval School and offered both 21 k and 10 k distances. Over the years it has become one of the most anticipated races on the national calendar.

In the men’s 21 k race, Rene Pomallanqui Marcas demonstrated his dominance in Peruvian distance running by winning in 1:07:26. Luis Ángel Jiménez Cerrón took second place with 1:08:57 and Ronald Quinto Fernández finished third in 1:11:58. The veteran Pomallanqui once again showed he remains at the top of his game.

Among the women, Litamar Díaz Pérez flew over the asphalt of the port to take the win in 1:20:29. She was followed by Yesica Yesbeth Granados Fermín (1:21:02) and Francis Janice Rojas Rodríguez (1:24:59), who completed the podium. Díaz’s performance underscores the growth of women’s running in Peru and hints at new stars on the horizon.
