On 9 November the classic Behobia‑San Sebastián race celebrated its 60th edition with an impressive turnout of almost 28,000 runners and a noteworthy 33.8 % of women on the start line. The 20 km route from the border town of Behobia to the heart of San Sebastián once again showcased a vibrant atmosphere despite the wet weather.
Spain’s Raúl Celada produced a surprise victory in the men’s race, clocking 1:01:28. He was followed by Diego Méntrida (+14 s) and local hero Iraitz Arrospide (+18 s), the best Basque on the day.
Ecuadorian athlete Katherine Ruth Tisalema dominated the women’s race with 1:09:34. Noshmin Mandoi finished runner‑up (+24 s) and María Maro Zubiri completed the podium in 1:10:43. The record female participation underscored the growing enthusiasm of women for major road races.
