A race with history and a solidarity spirit
The Vueling Cursa Bombers will celebrate its 26th edition on Sunday 9 November 2025. Born in the late 1990s as a charity run in support of the Barcelona firefighters, it has become one of Catalonia’s most popular 10‑kilometre events. In 2024 it raised more than €50,000 for social projects and this year it sold out rapidly, with more than 18,000 bibs gone in record time.
Restoring the classic course
The big novelty for 2025 is the return to the original route. The start and finish will again be at the Estació de França and, after a few metres along Avinguda Marquès de l’Argentera, runners will head up Via Laietana, recovering the urban essence of the race. The 10‑km course will once again showcase some of the city’s most emblematic spots: Passeig de Colom and the waterfront with harbour views, Gran Via up to Marina and Plaça de les Glòries, Passeig de Sant Joan and the Arc de Triomf. Thousands of spectators will line these avenues to cheer the runners – especially the firefighters who compete in full gear. The presence of the Bombers is the hallmark of the event.
An experience for everyone
Although registrations are sold out, the atmosphere invites everyone to enjoy the running party from the sidelines. Choose your favourite section of the course to applaud and soak up the energy of the sea of runners. There will be entertainment zones and music in several neighbourhoods to turn the Cursa Bombers into a huge civic festival. If you can’t make it to the city centre, the BCN Esports Instagram channel will stream the race live.
Solidarity and sustainability
Besides sporting adrenaline, the Cursa Bombers keeps its solidarity vocation. Part of the proceeds is donated each year to social and educational projects. The race also embraces sustainability, with technical shirts made from recycled materials and a cleaning scheme that minimises its impact on the streets.
Tips for enjoying the Cursa Bombers
- Plan your arrival: Estació de França is in the city centre. Use the metro or train to avoid traffic and arrive with enough time to warm up.
- Respect the firefighters: many of them run carrying heavy equipment; give them space as you run alongside them.
- Stay hydrated and enjoy the atmosphere: although it’s November, the race can be demanding. Take advantage of the refreshment stations and smile for the cameras – you might appear in the official photo album!
Even if you can’t run this year, the Cursa Bombers is a celebration of sport and solidarity worth experiencing. See you on Via Laietana!
