Some stories are worth following from the very beginning, when almost everything is still waiting to be written. Biel and Martí’s is one of them.
It all started in 2023, when Biel and Martí took up athletics at Club Atletismo Bescanó. They were hooked almost immediately. First came the training sessions, then their first competitions and, before they knew it, running was becoming a bigger and bigger part of their everyday lives.
Their family got drawn in too. Weekends started revolving around races, travelling to events, pre-race nerves and celebrating every small step forward. Out of all of that — and Biel and Martí’s determination to keep running and improving — PLANAS_AGON was born.
And that’s where we come in. At SnapRace, we’re really excited to start following their journey now, with a full season ahead and plenty still to discover along the way.
We’ll be sharing their races, their progress, the goals they set themselves and everything that happens between one competition and the next. Because a season may ultimately be remembered for its results, but it is built long before anyone reaches the start line.
A different way to think about competition
The name AGON comes from the Greek word associated with contest and competition. The project has made that idea its own, building it around values such as personal growth, consistency, dignity and respect.
We like that way of looking at it. Competing can mean wanting to run faster, set a new personal best or finish as high up the standings as possible. But it can also mean learning to work hard, staying consistent, sharing training sessions with others and appreciating the effort everyone else puts in.
Biel and Martí started athletics in 2023 with Club Atletismo Bescanó and have since competed across several disciplines. Throughout the year, they take part in cross-country, trail running, outdoor track and indoor track. Each brings its own pace, terrain and style of racing, so there is never much chance of getting bored.
Biel and Martí
Biel is 12 years old and competes as a licensed U14 athlete. In just his first few years in the sport, he has already taken part in major events and achieved some impressive results in both cross-country and track. One result in particular stands out: second place in the 600 metres at the Catalan Outdoor Track Championships, one of the biggest competitions he has contested so far. He has also won cross-country circuits and, in 2026, finished first in the 1,000 metres at the Girona, Lleida and Tarragona Territorial Delegations Championships, representing Girona.
It is easy to see how much he enjoys competing and everything that comes with it. One small detail says a lot: he asked for his athletics licence as a Three Kings’ Day gift. He also helps coach the younger children at his club — a side of athletics that goes far beyond times and results.
Martí is 10 years old and competes in the U12 category through the regional school sports system. He has also spent several seasons building up racing experience, particularly in cross-country, with his progress becoming more noticeable from one event to the next. In 2025, he finished seventh in both the Maresme and Girona cross-country circuits and also competed in the Catalan School Sports Games National Cross-Country Final.
He loves being at races, sharing the experience with others and continuing to learn with every event. At PLANAS_AGON, they especially highlight his team spirit and the warmth he brings to the group. And at just 10 years old, he already has one of those ambitions that makes you smile when you hear it: he wants to run as much as he can and race marathons when he grows up.
Between them, Biel and Martí have already changed what weekends look like for the whole family. There are races to prepare for, journeys to organise, schedules to coordinate, kit bags to pack and many hours spent supporting them from beyond the track. That is part of PLANAS_AGON too.
A whole season ahead
Now comes the part we’re most looking forward to sharing. There is an entire season ahead, and a lot can happen between the first race and the last.
There will be days when everything clicks and others that are more about learning. New personal bests will come, new challenges will appear and there will probably be a few surprises that are not even on the calendar yet. The exciting part will be watching it all unfold.
We’ll share their races and celebrate their achievements, but we’ll also follow the moments that never show up in a results table and still become an important part of any season. Sometimes a great day ends with a medal. Other times, it simply ends with the motivation to get back to training.
And their family will be there through all of it. Athletics came into their lives through Biel and Martí and, little by little, everyone has joined the journey. Now it means taking them to training sessions and competitions, planning weekends around races, cheering from beyond the track and enjoying whatever comes next alongside them.
PLANAS_AGON and SnapRace
This collaboration is about supporting Biel and Martí throughout the year and helping bring more visibility to everything they do. They’ll have SnapRace alongside them to train, discover and create routes, and turn some of their regular running routes into new challenges.
Most of all, though, we’re looking forward to getting to know them better as the races go by: seeing which goals emerge, which ones they achieve, what they take away from each competition and how PLANAS_AGON continues to grow with them.
