The Cross Patr\u00f3n de Lorca \u2013 Castle Climb celebrates its 47th edition as the start of the 24th Local Race Circuit and offers a 4.5\u2011kilometre route that begins in Plaza Calder\u00f3n and climbs up to the castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course and categories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The course winds through the streets of the historic centre and finishes with a demanding climb to the fortress, combining speed and endurance. Categories are available from youth to veteran runners, as well as a local classification for residents of Lorca. Registration costs only \u20ac3 and can be done through the Club Atletismo Sur Neum\u00e1ticos website until the Friday before the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scoring and prizes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As the first race of the 2024\/25 circuit, all participants will score points from this and the following seven races; to be eligible for the final prizes you must complete at least five of them. The prizes include hams for the top three overall, a batch of ham for the club with the highest participation and trophies and sports equipment vouchers for the local classification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t miss the chance to experience history and sport in the same race.
