The NYC Half Marathon 2026<\/strong> once again filled the streets of New York with runners on March 15<\/strong>. With more than 30,200 finishers<\/strong>, the race organised by New York Road Runners became the largest edition in its history.<\/p>\n\n

From Prospect Park to Central Park, passing through the iconic Manhattan Bridge and the vibrant Times Square, the race showcased why it is one of the most spectacular events in the global running calendar. Atmosphere and course of the NYC Half Marathon 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the sun just rising, runners gathered at the start line in Prospect Park (Brooklyn)<\/strong>. The course headed north along Flatbush Avenue before crossing the Manhattan Bridge<\/strong>, offering stunning skyline views.<\/p>\n\n

Runners then continued along the FDR Drive on Manhattan\u2019s east side before turning west toward Midtown. One of the most memorable highlights came as participants ran through Times Square<\/strong>, closed to traffic exclusively for the event, before finishing in Central Park<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The race featured enthusiastic crowds throughout and ideal running conditions, with cool temperatures and light winds favouring fast times.<\/p>\n\n

Participation was another major highlight: according to organisers, more than 30,000 runners completed the race<\/strong>, setting a new record and reinforcing the event\u2019s status as one of the most popular half marathons in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results: victories and standout performances<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the men\u2019s race, South African runner Adriaan Wildschutt<\/strong> delivered a surprise victory in 59:30<\/strong>. In only his second half marathon, he edged out Morocco\u2019s Zouhair Talbi<\/strong> (59:31) in a dramatic finish. Kenya\u2019s Brian Kipsang<\/strong> completed the podium in 1:00:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
